OScoffee – Rethinking Publishing: Alternative Outputs and Platforms
Rethinking Publishing: Alternative Outputs and Platforms
Traditional journal-based publishing has long been criticized for paywalls, slow dissemination of knowledge, publication biases, and the limited recognition of non-traditional research outputs. In response, more equitable and innovative publishing models have emerged, promoting formats such as preprints, modular publishing, open peer review, and scholarly blogs. In this OSCoffee we will explore alternative publishing formats and the platforms that support them, while opening the discussion on their adoption and perception within the research community.
