National Open Science Festival 2024 – Registrations Now Open!

The fourth edition of the National Open Science Festival will be held on October 22, 2024, at the School of Business and Economics (SBE) of Maastricht University. This festival is designed for the entire Open Science community, including professional research support staff and researchers from all disciplines.

The festival will feature interactive sessions, an information market, and plenty of networking opportunities. Continuing with the tradition, the motto of the festival is ‘Meet, Share, Inspire, Care’. The majority of the sessions will be led by community members, making it a true gathering for and by the Open Science community. Registration for these sessions is now open.

Until July 11th, anyone with a good idea can submit a proposal for an interactive session. Proposed sessions should address Open Science themes such as the boundaries of open science, citizen science/societal engagement, FAIR data, open access, open education, open hardware, open research software, and recognition & rewards. Other topics related to open science are also welcome. The festival program is expected to be finalized in August and updates will be posted on the Festival’s website.

Additionally, for the first time, on October 21, a satellite event - the Open Science Barcamp - will take place at the same location. This event will have an open 'unconference' format, bringing together both novices and experts in Open Science. Organized by the Open Science Communities (OSC-NL) network, the Barcamp aims to facilitate networking and connection building among members and participants.

Please register here. You can register for both events simultaneously, or choose to attend one of the two events.
