American Physical Society participates in SCOAP

As from 2018 the American Physical Society (APS) will join the SCOAP community. The goal of SCOAP is to migrate the publications in the field of high energy physics to open access. Through APS' membership almost 90% of the publications in this field will be worldwide available in open access. A huge success for science, particularly for education and research in this subject field.

Through this SCOAP project, articles in the field of high energy physics will be available for everyone, without a subscription and without the author having to pay a fee (APC). SCOAP is an important open access initiative which has lead to high quality results over the past few years. Publishers of quality journals, such as Elsevier, IOP Publishing and Springer, have already been participating. Everyone can access articles in high-quality scientific journals, worldwide and without any restrictions.

More information can be found on the SCOAP website and in the press releases of CERN en APS.
