How can open access benefit you?

If your publications are available in open access, you will have unlimited use of them in your teaching. This applies even if you publish in subscription-based journals: you can negotiate this right with your publisher.

What can you do?

• Tell your students, as the next generation of academics, about the benefits of open access. Explain that open access will benefit their careers, that it combines well with peer review and that copyright remains intact.
• Encourage your students to publish their work in open access. Support public access to theses and PhD dissertations.
• Help to ensure that your own publications are available in open access for use in teaching.
