Utrecht University and Tilburg University published their open science programmes

Two Dutch universities have published their open science programmes.

Utrecht University has sent its new Open Science Programme 2018-2020 to the rector and university board for approval. Comments on the draft version 0.7, accessible via the website of the UU, are welcome.  The Open Science Programme connects closely with the National Plan Open Science and addresses open access publications, FAIR & open research data, and rewards and incentives. To these themes sharing of code and software was added. Attention is also paid to outreach and public engagement.

At University Tilburg, the Open Science plan has now been approved by the rector and university board, and the University Council. The TiU Open Science plan, Action Plan for Open Science for Tilburg University Strategy 2018-2021, has been registered in Zenodo.

The project consists of several actions:

1. Experiment with Open Science Labs

a. Self-publishing journals

b. Open Books

c. Open Educational Materials

d. Tilburg University preprints

2. Start a Tilburg University Open Access Fund for publishing in gold Open Access journals

3. Develop Open Science skills training

4. Start a Tilburg University Open Science Network
